Halloween is my favorite time of the year, so naturally I was hyped for the whole month of October and am sad spooky season is over. I visited Underwood Family Farms’ annual Fall Harvest twice this season and had so much fun walking through the pumpkin patch, getting lost in the corn maze, and adoring the animals. From chickens to goats and emus to cows, they had it all! I look forward to attending every year and am already excited about going back next year.
Creating Halloween makeup looks also excites me because my creativity is in full force. Plus, I love dressing up more than once during Halloween because one costume is clearly not enough. You can watch my tutorials in my Halloween makeup playlist on my YouTube channel. My favorite looks from this year are a tie between the glam mummy and colorful clown makeup I wore to Escape Psycho Circus, which is a Halloween rave.
Anywho, here’s what I’ve been loving in October!
NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Alien
I was on the hunt for an affordable black liquid lipstick for Halloween looks and found NYX’s Liquid Suede Lipstick in Alien at Target. Surprisingly, the drugstore doesn’t have many black lipstick options. Several Halloween makeup tutorials and fall looks later, I have officially fallen in love with black lipstick. NYX’s Alien complements my fair skin so well and makes me feel like the epitome of fall vampy chic.
The formula dries down to a comfortable matte that is transfer-proof unless you’re eating food, in which case the color begins to come off from the center of the lips, but a quick reapply can fix that. The color doesn’t bleed in my experience.
Pro tip: Use an angled liner brush to sharpen the edges of your lips for a clean look.
Ok, these are what I call “California sweaters” because they’re more stylish than effective at keeping you warm. Don’t get me wrong, my Boohoo sweaters keep me plenty warm in our 90-degree Los Angeles fall, but I can’t imagine they’d keep you cozy in somewhere like the east coast. You feel me?
Even though it’s been too hot for sweaters and I end up in a sweaty puddle when I wear these out, I am so ready to bust out my fall attire and get in the autumn mood. I’ve been loving pairing these sweaters from Boohoo with my Aerie high-rise leggings and Guess combat boots for a cute fall outfit.
Health-Ade Kombucha in Blood Orange – Carrot – Ginger
Are we surprised I’m back at it with another kombucha? LOL. I ordered some new Health-Ade Kombucha flavors I hadn’t tried yet from Milk and Eggs. While I still love the Power Greens flavor, my new favorite is their Blood Orange – Carrot – Ginger. Y’all know I love my ginger. This one tastes like a tangy sparkling water and the fall color scheme on the packaging makes it my ideal fall kombucha.
You know how we transition into berries, mustards, and olives for fall makeup? Or at least, I do. We should start doing that for kombucha, too. Did I just start a thing? Any kombucha brands out there need a marketing coordinator? Hit me up. *laughs in Kris Jenner*
