I’m kicking off summer 2018 with a new series on my blog — monthly favorites! June was a rewarding month of renewal and personal growth. From deleting my Instagram to taking up a water challenge to drink three liters of water a day for 30 days, I’ve experienced a positive shift in my mindset and energy.
During this time, I discovered a lot of new favorite products, as well. I’m so excited to share my list with you and hope you’ll find something new to add to your future favorites. Here is everything I’ve been loving in June.
Beauty
Pacifica Mineral Lip Balm SPF 15
If I could only wear one lip product for the rest of summer, it would be Pacifica’s Mineral Lip Balm. The untinted formula glides on my lips so smoothly, has a light pleasant coconut scent, and wears well under other lipsticks. Most importantly, it has SPF 15! As someone who burns easily, I’m all for protecting my lips from sunburn. Pacifica also offers tinted versions with SPF 30.

Patchology AquaFlash Daily Gel Moisturizer
Ok, you need to try this. Patchology’s AquaFlash Daily Gel Moisturizer is the ultimate summer skincare product. The lightweight gel quickly absorbs into my skin, provides a burst of hydration, and gives me a beautiful glass skin effect. Plus, it doesn’t feel sticky at all. In addition to having a light floral scent, the moisturizer is packed with collagen-promoting hyaluronic acid, free-radical fighting neem tree extract, wrinkle-reducing vitamin B5, and soothing aloe extract. It’s become my latest obsession!

Almay Shadow Squad Eyeshadow in 120 Never Settle
Almay recently launched a bunch of new makeup products, including their Shadow Squad Eyeshadow quads, which come with four finishes (matte, satin, metallic, and glitter) per palette. I love taking these with me on travel since they’re so compact and give me the ability to create multiple looks. My favorite shade is 120 Never Settle because it has the perfect everyday neutrals. These shadows are mainly what I’ve been wearing on my eyes for the past couple months.
Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Camo Drops
While my skin has cleared up a lot ever since I started using Drunk Elephant skincare products, I was still on the hunt for a product that would neutralize redness in my skin from remaining acne scars. The Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Camo Drops do exactly that. The serum and color corrector duo has a lightweight watery consistency that changes from green to beige upon application and gives my skin a glowy, even complexion. Even though I have fair skin, the color matches my skin well. Goodbye, liquid foundation!
Fashion
A New Day Black Floppy Hat
Honestly, I can’t get enough of this black floppy hat. I wear it almost every time I go outside. Not only does it compliment practically every outfit, but it also protects my scalp and face from the sun! There’s an adjustable strap on the inside that prevents it from flying off my head, too, unless it’s extremely windy. Let’s be real, the main reason I love wearing this hat is because the wide brim keeps my face in the shade, but it also makes me feel like a super stylish rich woman vacationing in Beverly Hills. Just put it on and you’ll know exactly what I mean. You’ll fall in love with it, too.
Food
Oatly Oat Milk
If you haven’t tried oat milk, you absolutely need to. Oat milk is such an LA thing considering it’s a vegan dairy-free milk alternative, but it’s so delicious. The flavor is much more wholesome than almond milk and pairs well with my homemade iced matcha lattes, which is how I usually drink it. I normally get Oatly’s Low-Fat Oatmilk, but I recently discovered they make chocolate oat milk and my mind was blown! I’ve been having the chocolate one with cereal or just by itself. I can’t wait to place my next order so I can restock.
I get my oat milk from Milk and Eggs, which delivers groceries to your door for free. If you live in LA, use this link to get $20 off your first order.
Books
The Four: The Hidden DNA of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google by Scott Galloway read by Jonathan Todd Ross
Aside from loving reading books since childhood, I’ve also become a huge fan of listening to podcasts and audiobooks. This month, I started listening to The Four: The Hidden DNA of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google by Scott Galloway read by Jonathan Todd Ross. I’m only two chapters in so far, but I’m already fascinated by this entertaining business book about how these four tech giants manipulate our emotional needs to scale their companies. If you’re a techie, into business, or simply curious about the subject, give this audiobook a listen.
As someone with acne scars myself, I will definitely try out that Dr Jart+ product!
It’s so soothing on the skin and does a great job of evening out my redness! I hope you love it, Heather!

I’m definitely going to try the Pacifica Mineral Lip Balm. I have issues finding the perfect product for my lips so thanks for sharing.
Glad to help, Nina! It feels sooo smooth and nice on my lips! I love that it has SPF, too. That’s the main reason why I got it.
